Dr. Ken Fox

Emergency Veterinarian

DVM

"I enjoy the fast pace and the case variety of Emergency Medicine, but the most important part of the job for me- the reason I founded WECARE- lies in the ability to help pets and their owners through difficult times."

Education: B.S. in Microbiology from University of California DVM, Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine, 1997

Dr Fox has been on the forefront of emergency veterinary medicine for almost 20 years. He and his wife Valerie, opened their first hospital, Veterinary Emergency Treatment Services (VETS) in Waldorf in 1996 and the first 24 hour veterinary hospital – the Southern Maryland Veterinary Referral Center- in the state of Maryland. Dr. Fox’s focus at WECARE is on caring and compassionate state of the art veterinary medicine as well as friendly, communicative relationships with pet owners and family veterinarians.

Dr. Fox is also the past owner and veterinarian of the Glymont Animal Hospital in Indian Head MD providing comprehensive preventative care medicine. His professional interests include surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy and complicated critical patients. Dr. Fox, his wife Valerie, and their 14 year old daughter live on a large horse farm in Southern Maryland. They breed and show Hanovarian sport horses. They have had 2 horses compete in the pentathlon world championships and their daughter is an avid show jumper and polocrosse player.  When he’s not at the hospital Dr Fox enjoys the horses, but does not ride, he plays golf, bikes, and scuba dives.
